My son found a mysterious, small hard peach on the sidewalk in front of our house this week. (By the time I found it it had teeth marks - his, he informed me.) Us Northern Virginia city dwellers see more maples, pines, and oaks than stone fruit trees, but the source was easily found on the afternoon walk.

I can’t get enough of the tastes, colors, textures, of all the blueberries, cherries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, and watermelon coming through our door. Lots of red faces and fingers, learning to spit out the seeds, strawberry tops left on the placemat, and questions about are the peaches ready yet?  Peach milkshakes last night, and the ice cream maker needs a home on the countertop.

Lots of these fuzzy beauties made their way in front of my lens recently.  Now off to try this crumble from my favorite recipe creator... Barefoot Contessa Peach Blueberry Crumble
